Redenhall Deanery Synod

 There will be a meeting of Synod on Monday 2nd February 2009, in Scole Church,    

                                               commencing at 7.30pm.

    It may be helpful to look at the relevant minute from last October’s meeting  

   Standing Committee have thought long and hard about the scheme and are 

  convinced that it provides a cost-effective and fun way to reach out to our 29 parishes,   

  with  opportunities to show Christian love and  commitment in a non threateniing  way.

Diocesan Synod: October 2008

Subjects covered:  

 Lambeth Conference - Reflections by our bishops (and see Across the See Nov ‘08)

 Youth Task Force:  dvd of youth activities, followed by group discussion of options for 

    our diocese:

1) employ diocesan youth develoopment worker        2) appoint youth work chaplain

3) employ area based youth work officers.  Concensus favoured 3 and/or 1

  Ecumenical Accompaniment programme in Palestine & Israel: The aim is to offer protection via non violent international presence;  to monitor & report violations of human rights or international humanitarian laws;  to support peace activists

  Clergy Conditions and terms of service: The church is pursuing this to bring it into line with government legislation, rather than risking the imposition of government solutions.
